I haven't written in a little while! I'm still plugging along in my training and ask myself almost every week, "What have I gotten myself in to?"
I am really enjoying running. And I am loving the changes in my body - it's leaner and a meaner :) BUT, I'm still not sure I'm cut out to be a long distance runner. I have to say that on the days when I wimp out and only run 3 or so miles, I'm happy. That seems to be a good distance for me.
When I push myself further (and not much further - I'm only up to 5 miles!), I'm dying out there! Mentally and physically. I keep telling myself that I can do it, and once I get through it, I feel fine of course. But boy is it brutal!
Training for this half marathon is definitely going to take discipline and determination. A lot more of both than I was anticipating. Isn't it sad that I can't wait for it to be over already? I feel bad admitting that. But I'm proud of how much I've accomplished already - and I am going to keep going!
